How we score Illawarra suburbs for HVAC vs solar

Shared regional foundation

Both demos start from ABS Census SA2 demographics, building approvals, and OpenStreetMap business locations. Every suburb gets households, income, growth signals, and commercial density.

HVAC weights

Commercial HVAC prioritises climate load (heating and cooling degree signals), aged care and healthcare segments, hospitality density, and drive time from depot. Greenfield suburbs without existing customers score higher in expansion mode.

Solar weights

Solar & electrical prioritises owner-occupied detached housing, pre-2000 stock for switchboard upgrades, daily solar resource (GHI), and large-roof commercial segments — industrial and retail rank highest for crew patches.
